We are people who are part of the climate justice movement. In August 2015, we among 1000 people occupied the Garzweiler mine and demanded: Ende Gelaende! Here and no further! for lignite mining. We also participate in many other actions of protest, we put ourselves in the way of coal trains and excavators, we block coal fired power plants and coal harbours..
We are convinced: civil disobedience is both legitimate and necessary in order to counter the desastrous consequences of global warming.
We bring our protest to exactly the places that produce climate change: for example to the lignite mining areas in the Rhineland and in Lusatia as well as to the world’s second largest coal harbour in Amsterdam.
Our actions are not directed against people, but against the exploitation of coal and its conversion into electricity.
